Create a Buzz and get more exposure

Posted on 15. Dec, 2009 by in Blogging for beginners, Tweaking Tuesdays

It was one week since I have made an article here. It was quite busy few days and I would like to say today’s post is about the results of our previous articles. Yes, we have made an article about issues at Mashable and spamming at DailySEOTip and we are glad now we have received responses for it.

Mashable’s 404 issue:

There was some issue with 404 pages of Mashable and some other sites with same CMS. We made a quick blog about the issue as Mashable 404 error and a research in it. We have got a response from Mashable’s CTO Fernando about it explaining the reasons for the issue. Here is the response from him.

And after notifying about this, one of my reader has notified me about it that they have now customised the 404 page of index.html too.

Here is the 404 page for index.html before.

Traditional 404 page

Index.html at mashable earlier

After customizing the 404 page now,

Spam at Daily SEO tip:

Ann Smarty, one of the famous SEO blogger, runs her blog at DailySEOTip. There was a spam not filtered at her blog and notified her about this through this blog post. She dropped in here and gave a response for it and the spam has been removed now.

So what does this say:

Not simply looking for articles to write and thinking about you can help you to reach higher but sometimes, looking at these kind of things can also make you better blogger. People always don’t like the same flour to be ground again and they always look for some fresh news and updates. So, use small opportunities and get to know more.

Those mistakes said above let us know that sometimes great people do mistakes and we can notify them about these. This can help us to

  • network with them
  • learn something new and
  • a whole new experience and stuff to blog about.

So if you find something interesting like this, you can just blog immediately and these things can create a buzz which can increase ur traffic as well as improve your online presence. Here finishes my part and its upto you to share in comments what else can we do to make our articles more interesting and better known at blogosphere.

I believe that any way you can network with other people ia good for your blog. Every new connection can provide you a permanent visitor that may promote your posts.

Informing people of problems with their blogs and websites is a great way to connect.

  3. That’s pretty amazing a site as popular as mashable didn’t have a 404 page set up.

It’s great that you pointed it out and it really isn’t hard to go out of your way sometimes and help someone out – even if it is only a 5min email. It’s something! And you never know what you may get in return for helping out.

I’ve always said – give more than you receive and you will live a happy life :)

Actually I’d be very careful publicly blogging about other site screw-ups.

This is a nice Action you took here!

In my oppinion should bloggers work together and not against each other, so it´s always nice to see there are others thinking the same way!

Also in most cases it will be paied back in to one or the other way!
