5 Ways to get more followers on Twitter

Twitter is definitely the most important, and most used social networking site. Its because of its easy to use, less characters made it a platform of micro blogging. Twitter is the most sought site and the search engines tie up with it to make the most out of it and to show real time results. Whatever it is, people always like to get followed and follow some important people.

Being followed on Twitter is very important; it determines who and what sees your Twitter feed regularly. Also, getting genuine followers who like to keep in touch with you, follow your tweets, are very important. Here are 5 simple ways to get more Followers than you have ever have before.

Be Interesting

Let’s take it back to the basics of Following; when you Follow someone, it simply adds their “feed” to your main page “feed.” If they Tweet about Twilight, and you hate Twilight, you probably won’t Follow them. If they Tweet about Metallica, and you love Metallica, of course you will Follow them! This is the exactly the same the other way around; therefore, every Tweet counts; when you Tweet, make sure it satisfies most of your Followers to the extent that they might tell your friends about you. However, if you are not as interesting as they thought you were, they might un-follow you as fast as they followed you.

The One Rule of Kindness

The one rule of kindness is simply following back. It’s a way of saying thanks to the people who had followed you. How can this help you get followers? You follow people of course. When you Follow them, nine times out of ten, they will Follow you back. However, when you Follow people, make sure you don’t exceed around 70 Twitterers per day, because if you go over, you will be marked as a spam bot, and quickly suspended.

Participate!

Almost every day of the week has a special day assigned to it. Take Music Monday for example; during this day, people relay their favorite music or they relay what they are listening to. How can you take advantage of this? Participate! If people see your Tweets in the public timeline, and they find you an interesting person, they’ll follow you!

Professional Profiles

Having a professional profile is very important in Twitter; it sometimes is the deciding factor in the decision to follow you. When someone sees that you have the default background and avatar, they might not follow you. Why? Most people who have that configuration are just there to spam people’s timelines. Change your avatar related to your niche, or change your background to something related to your company.

Stay Active!

Every time you Tweet, your Tweet is added to the public timeline and the Twitter search. Take advantage of this! Tweet in your niche a couple times a day, you will be able to get more exposure to more people. When they find you in the timeline, and they are interested in you, they’ll Follow you!

    Good post dude..

    You really covered the essential things that has to followed in everybody’s Twitter account.

    I would suggest to add one more thing – you should tweet about one particular topic i.e., keep your profile as niche for particular topic..

    Even though, you can tweet about any interesting one in other topics, keeping your profile as niche- will really help you to increase the followers.

    Connecting and connections are the most important things. When you a get a retweet from someone who is a big tweeter, you are bound to get many followers just by that.

    When you talk to people with the @nick, you get exposure for your own page. The more you chat, the more exposure you get.

    @Keith- Well, bots work too. Just not good enough after twitter became stricter. Now, if you go aggressive with bots they just ban you.

    Anyways, one thing I have to say is that its more about getting quality followers than the number. So, concentrate on on-niche followers rather than following every one you can.

    Staying active is important, I lost about 20 followers the last week I was ill…

    also it´s a good idea to RT interesting tweets from others from time to time, this may lead them to RT you, or to follow you if they don´t follow you already.
