I’M BACK

Hello Fellas, it has been a long time that I have made a post here. To be exact, the blog has faced some issues regarding consumption of excess CPU from the server. I remember my last post was on January. Even the hosting people made lot of efforts to restore the blog, most of it in vain. But finally the blog is now BACK.

It is just a setback

I had in mind of writing of this post once my blog is restored good. And yes, now I am writing. May be this is not a technical or ‘how-to’ post. But its definitely a guideline of how you can face such issues in future. I am writing this to share my experience with all the other bloggers, newbies and we-dream-to-be-bloggers pals. I would pronounce what I have faced as a SETBACK rather than a FAILURE and I am putting all my efforts to make the blog more better than how it was three months before.

What was the issue?

This is what happened. It was January 15th of 2010 I guess. I was trying to visit my blog and suddenly a page saying “This site is suspended” had appeared. I was shocked to see it. I contacted my hosting people (they are so helpful and I have an idea to write a review about them in few days). They said due to the over usage of their CPU resources, my account was terminated and they can do all to set up a new account, provided I weed-out all those things that consume too much of CPU.

All my previous posts and databases are backed up and sent to me by the end of February. Unfortunately, I cant upload (since I cant find time and not good Internet access here). After a month and half, the files are uploaded and the database is configured with the help of hosting people and the blog is ready to rock now.

Rankings drop

I can say some of the big blows by this setback are loss of visitors and drop in rankings. Yes, it was around one lakh before this happened and now it’s more than 10 lakh in Alexa.com. But I feel that it’s not so tough to get back to the previous ranking. But, I am sure it will take lot of effort.

Loss of visitors

Needless to say this, ranking drops only because of loss of visitors and less activities in site. Loss of visitors directly relates to loss of reputation for the site. As the site page showed “It has been suspended”, it should be a major blow too. I hope now those readers can understand and I promise to deliver posts regularly as I can.

The BEST is yet to come

The blog has been good and I have plans to make them better. Here are what I have in mind for improving it.

• Adding some categories like leisure, book reviews and other subjects so that it will not only be a tech blog but can be a place for everyone to rejoice.
• During these three months I got offers for hosting contests in this blog from some other blogs and websites to sponsor them. I assured them that I can host them once my blog is back. So, it’s likely you can expect a contest in a few days.
• I am looking for co authors too, though I haven’t made a firm decision about it. So if I go for it, this blog becomes a one spot to know more subjects.
