Hello everyone, commenting is one of the easy way to get back links and get interacted with the authors of the blogs. Besides these, NoviceBloggers announces Top Commentators contest for January,2010.

I am offering two 125×125 ad spots in my blog for those contest winners. One who holds the first two spots in commenting gets those spots for a month. You can see your comment numbers and your position according to comment numbers at the top commentator widget which is present at the side bar.

Hi I have been running this contest on my blog for three months now and I am happy to report that it has increased my commentator pool, but nothing works better than killer content.

I STRONGLY advise you REMOVE the numbers from view, if possible.

This will only encourage more spamming and “ify so-so” comments from those trying to get ahead each time they visit.

I agree with Dennis, concentrating only on numbers will lead to more spammy comments. i think you should also focus on the quality of comments.

Now I have to say that’s just a great way to get comments. Add in the back links on posts as well as free advertising? It’s really a win for everyone (as long as a few have stated there isn’t too many of the spammy comments.)
